Ricardo Walther Secures Bronze at WTT Feeder Düsseldorf 2026

Düsseldorf, Germany – The WTT Feeder Düsseldorf 2026 concluded on March 6th with a bronze medal for Germany’s Ricardo Walther in the men’s singles competition. The tournament, jointly organized by Borussia Düsseldorf and the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB), also saw a bronze medal for Wim Verdonschot and Cedric Meissner in men’s doubles. Belgium’s Adrien Rassefosse and Japan’s Yuka Kaneyoshi claimed the singles titles.

Walther Falls to Rassefosse in Semifinals

Ricardo Walther’s pursuit of a final appearance was halted by Adrien Rassefosse in the semifinals. Walther had previously achieved impressive victories against top-seeded Frenchman Leo de Nodrest and compatriot Kay Stumper. However, he lost to Rassefosse in straight sets, failing to win a single game.

Rassefosse Claims Men’s Singles Title

In the final, Adrien Rassefosse faced Filip Zeljko of Croatia, who had earlier defeated Steffen Mengel and Wim Verdonschot. Rassefosse secured the title after a comeback victory, winning 3-2 after trailing 0-2.

Kaneyoshi Defends Women’s Singles Crown

Yuka Kaneyoshi of Japan successfully defended her title in the women’s singles, defeating Welshwoman Anna Hursey in straight sets (3-0). Kaneyoshi had earlier eliminated Annett Kaufmann from the competition.

Doubles Champions Crowned

The doubles competitions saw victories for Japanese pair Sota Noda and Tomoki Omoda (men’s doubles), Taiwanese duo Li Yi-Jhun and Chien Tung-Chuan (women’s doubles), and the English team of Connor Green and Tin Tin Ho (mixed doubles).

Event Director Alex Schilling Praises Tournament

Event director Alex Schilling expressed satisfaction with the tournament’s success. “It was once again a great tournament here at the German Table Tennis Center. It’s always nice to be host to players from all over the world. The atmosphere is something very special and we saw absolutely top table tennis again,” said Schilling. He also noted the emergence of new champions across all five competitions. Schilling thanked sponsors D.Sports, Rheinmetall, Donic, and the DTTB for their support.

Upcoming WTT Events

The WTT tour continues with a Feeder tournament in Otocec, featuring German champion Kay Stumper and Fanbo Meng in the men’s category, and Josi Neumann in the women’s category. A Champions tournament with a prize pool of $800,000 will be held in Chongqing, China, with Dang Qiu, Patrick Franziska, Sabine Winter, and Ying Han representing Germany. Benedikt Duda has withdrawn from the Chongqing tournament due to travel and security concerns.
