Modest Mouse Drops Recent Track “Look How Far…” and Announces Extensive 2026 Tour

Indie rock stalwarts Modest Mouse have unveiled their first new song in five years, “Look How Far…,” alongside a significant expansion of their 2026 North American tour schedule. The release marks a busy period for the band as they celebrate their 30th anniversary.

A Return to Form with “Look How Far…”

“Look How Far…” serves as the band’s first new music since the release of their 2021 album, The Golden Casket. Clocking in at just under two minutes, the track is described as urgent, anxious and chaotic, embodying the signature sound of the Isaac Brock-led group. The lyrics, particularly the chorus – “Look how far we haven’t come / Oh my God we’re so fucking dumb!” – offer a pointed commentary on societal stagnation and a perceived disregard for historical lessons. Consequence reports the song features former Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss.
