Jakarta Robbery Turns Deadly: Suspect Arrested in Ermanto Usman Case

Jakarta, Indonesia – A robbery at the home of Ermanto Usman, 65, a retired Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) employee and chairman of the JICT Retired Employees Association, resulted in his death and left his wife critically injured. Police have arrested a 28-year-old suspect, identified only by the initials S, in connection with the crime.

Details of the Incident

According to the Metro Jaya Police, the suspect targeted Ermanto Usman’s residence because it appeared to be the largest house in the area, leading him to believe it contained valuable items. Netral News reports that the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 2nd, 2026.

The suspect gained entry by prying open a window with a crowbar. When confronted by Ermanto Usman’s wife, he attacked her with the crowbar. Upon discovering Ermanto in the bedroom, the suspect panicked and also attacked him, resulting in fatal injuries. Ermanto Usman’s Background

Ermanto Usman had a long history with JICT, serving as an HRD Manager and later as the chair of the JICT retirees association. His brother, Dalsuf Usman, stated that Ermanto’s dismissals were later overturned by the Minister of Transport.
