About the Aircraft

Sentimental Journey (B-17G Flying Fortress) originally served in the Pacific Theater during WWII, delivered to the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1944. After the war, it was used for training, testing, and sea rescue missions before being sold for surplus and utilized as a fire bomber. Learn more about its history.

Maid in the Shade (B-25J Mitchell) is a rare aircraft, one of only 34 B-25Js still flying, having completed 13 combat missions over Italy and 2 over Yugoslavia. Discover its combat history.

The C-47 Skytrain has seen more WWII combat than any other known aircraft in the Commemorative Air Force.

The N2S-3 Stearman bi-plane served as a military trainer in the 1930s and 1940s for the USAAF, US Navy, and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
