Stromae Joins Orelsan Onstage in Brussels for Surprise Performance
Brussels, Belgium – In a moment that delighted fans, Stromae made a surprise appearance during Orelsan’s concert at the ING Arena in Brussels on Thursday, March 12, 2026. The unexpected collaboration saw the two artists perform their 2017 hit, “La Pluie,” to a crowd of nearly 18,000.
A Surprise Duet and a Birthday Celebration
Orelsan, performing the first of three sold-out shows in the Belgian capital, invited Stromae onstage after performing a medley of his earlier work. The duo’s rendition of “La Pluie” was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The concert too served as a birthday celebration for Stromae, who turned 41 on March 12. Orelsan acknowledged the occasion onstage, prompting the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday” to the Belgian artist. Stromae’s seven-year-old son, equipped with a microphone, also joined in wishing his father a happy birthday, to which Stromae responded, “I love you, my son,” and added, “Thank you very much, it’s a great gift.”
Stromae’s Return to the Stage
This marked Stromae’s first performance on stage in three years, following the cancellation of his tour due to health concerns Le Parisien. He was previously seen attending a performance of Star Academy in January 2026, but did not participate in the reveal.
A History of Collaboration
This isn’t the first time Stromae and Orelsan have shared the stage. They previously performed “La Pluie” together in 2018 at the Forest National in Brussels, marking Stromae’s first public appearance in two and a half years.
Recent Musical Ventures
Despite not releasing a new album since Multitude in 2022, Stromae has remained active in the music scene, collaborating with artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner on “Let it be clear,” Burna Boy on “Pardon,” and Pomme on “My best enemy,” the original soundtrack to the series Arcane season 2.
