Halo Extends World Snooker Championship Sponsorship, Expands into Darts

Halo, a UK-based software company, has renewed its title sponsorship of the World Snooker Championship for the 2026 tournament, building on its initial partnership that began in 2025. The company is also expanding its sports involvement, becoming an official partner of the 2026-27 World Darts Championship, both events organized by Matchroom Sports.

World Snooker Championship 2026 Details

The 2026 World Snooker Championship will take place from April 18 to May 4 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, UK. The World Snooker Championship, established in 1927, is the oldest and most prestigious tournament in professional snooker. It is part of snooker’s Triple Crown Series, alongside the UK Championship and the Masters.

Expanding Partnership with Matchroom Sports

This expanded partnership with Matchroom Sports sees Halo become the official technology partner for both the Snooker and Darts World Championships. Halo will leverage data and information from the events to enhance the fan experience through digital channels. Both the World Snooker Tour (WST) and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) are owned by Matchroom Sports.

Broadcast Coverage

The 2026 World Snooker Championship will be broadcast on several major networks, including the BBC, TNT Sports, Eurosport, CCTV5 and WST Play.

The current world snooker champion is Zhao Xintong, who won the title in 2025. The World Snooker Championship boasts a total prize fund of £2,395,000, with £500,000 awarded to the winner.
