Drexel Women’s Tennis Secures Road Victory Over Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Drexel women’s tennis team defeated the Monmouth Hawks 4-3 in a hard-fought road match on Saturday. The Dragons showcased a strong performance in both doubles and singles play to secure the victory.

Doubles Play Sets the Tone

Drexel dominated the doubles competition, winning all three matches. Bia Ibrahim and Olivia Chowgule started strong, winning at the third doubles court with a score of 6-4. Anastasia Kavounov and Rebecca Fiedler followed suit, securing a 6-2 victory at the second doubles court. Lorie Lemongo and Adva Dabah completed the sweep, winning the first doubles court 6-4.

Singles Competition Sees Mixed Results

The singles matches proved to be more challenging, with Drexel winning three and Monmouth claiming the other three. Olivia Chowgule was defeated in the sixth court, falling 1-6 and 5-7. Sofiya Snitko delivered a strong performance, winning the fourth singles match 6-0 and 6-4. Bia Ibrahim lost her singles match at the fifth court with a score of 1-6 and 3-6. Rebecca Fiedler as well faced defeat, losing the third singles match 2-6 and 4-6.

However, Drexel rallied with wins from Lorie Lemongo and Anastasia Kavounov. Lemongo won the first singles match 6-3, 6-2, even as Kavounov secured a victory in the second singles match with scores of 6-2, 6-3.
