The Changing Landscape of Children’s Emmys

The Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Program was retired beginning with the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards due to confusion over eligibility with the rise of streaming services. In response, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) introduced the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards presentation, beginning in 2022, to specifically recognize excellence in this evolving media landscape.

The Walt Disney Company’s success at the 2026 Children’s & Family Emmy Awards underscores its continued commitment to producing high-quality, award-winning content for young audiences.
