Samsung Expands One UI 8.5 Beta Program to Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 stable update initially launched with the Galaxy S26 series in late February 2026. While the Galaxy S25 series began beta testing in December, Samsung is now broadening the One UI 8.5 beta program to include its 2024 flagship devices.

Beta Program Expansion

Recent discoveries on Samsung’s servers indicate the availability of the first One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 carries firmware version F956BXXU3ZZCB, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is identified as F741BXXU3ZZCB. The beta program is expected to launch initially in India, South Korea, and select European countries, though regional availability may vary.

Galaxy S24 Series Inclusion

Notably, the first One UI 8.5 beta build has likewise been spotted for the Galaxy S24 and S24+. This marks a significant shift in Samsung’s beta program strategy, as Fan Edition (FE) devices have not previously been included in these trials. It is possible this initial appearance on internal servers represents internal testing rather than a public beta release.

Strategic Beta Rollout

Samsung’s approach mirrors a pattern observed with previous One UI updates, including One UI 7.0 and One UI 8.0. The company appears to be strategically delaying the full rollout of One UI 8.5, focusing instead on gathering feedback and refining the software through extensive beta testing. This allows users to test the Beta software and submit bug reports, shifting the focus away from an immediate stable release.

What to Expect

Following the beta testing phase, stable builds of One UI 8.5 will be released for these devices. While the beta testing period for the Galaxy S25 series is ongoing, the timeline for the 2024 flagship devices may be shorter. However, the exact duration remains uncertain.
