Mega Man Races into Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with Fresh DLC

Sega has announced the arrival of Mega Man as a playable character in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, launching a new DLC pack on March 25, 2026. The update introduces Mega Man, Proto Man, the Wily Castle course, and the Rush Roadster vehicle to the high-speed racing game.

New Characters and Content

The fourth wave of DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds brings iconic characters from Capcom’s Mega Man series to the racetrack. Players can now choose to race as either Mega Man or Proto Man. The DLC also includes the Rush Roadster vehicle and the Wily Castle course, offering new challenges and environments for racers. Sega initially announced plans to include Mega Man in the game’s Season Pass, available through the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Crossplay and Game Features

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds supports crossplay, allowing players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Epic Games Store to compete against each other. The game’s core feature revolves around Travel Rings, which transport players between different worlds mid-race, creating unpredictable and dynamic gameplay. Races consist of three laps, with the second lap taking place in a transformed “CrossWorld” featuring randomly spawning gates and Frenzy events.

Season Pass and DLC Availability

The Mega Man DLC is part of the Season Pass included in the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Digital Deluxe Edition. Insider Gaming reports that the game has already received 17 new characters since its initial launch on September 25, 2025. Additional DLC packs featuring characters from other popular franchises, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Pac-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Minecraft, have also been released.

Future Updates

Sega plans to continue expanding Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with more content. The official site indicates that at least three more Sega characters and six third-party guest characters are planned for future updates. These additions will likely include new vehicles and tracks, as well as classic Sega music and themes from guest character franchises.
