Two Murders Investigated in Karmøy, Norway

Police in Karmøy, Norway, are investigating two deaths as murder, with a large-scale operation underway to find the perpetrator(s). The incidents occurred in separate homes, and authorities are treating them as connected.

Details of the Investigation

Police received an initial report from the medical emergency services (AMK) regarding a deceased individual at a residence. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a body. Shortly before 1:00 PM, a second deceased person was found inside a nearby home during a follow-up inquiry.

“The police are investigating this as two murders, and we see these incidents in connection. I do not wish to go into further details in that regard,” stated police attorney Fredrik Martin Soma in a press release.

As of Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:48 PM, no arrests have been made. “Our main priority now is to find one or more perpetrators and arrest them,” Soma added.

Large Police Presence

A significant police presence has been reported in Karmøy, with over ten police cars and a forensic investigation vehicle observed at one location, according to a tip received by VG. One tipster stated, “I have never seen such a large police call-out.”

Police have secured evidence at the scenes and are currently conducting witness interviews. They are urging anyone with information to contact them at 02800.

Local Reaction

The Mayor of Karmøy, Leiv Arne Marhaug, confirmed awareness of the situation, stating it is currently a matter for the police.
