The Future of the Franchise: Austin Powers 4?
Austin Powers in Goldmember achieved similar levels of success to the second film. Despite this, a fourth sequel has not materialized, although plans have been discussed over the years. Mike Myers has repeatedly stated in interviews that he and director Jay Roach remain interested in another installment, with a script already written.4 Myers’ focus on family life has been cited as a reason for the delay.
Though, Austin Powers 4 is not entirely off the table. Before a potential return to the Austin Powers universe, Mike Myers is set to reprise his role as Shrek in Shrek 5, scheduled for release on June 30, 2027.4
