Chris Hero Offers Guidance to Ricochet Following Controversial Tweet
Professional wrestler Ricochet faced backlash earlier this week after posting a harsh tweet responding to a fan’s criticism. Following the incident, fellow wrestler Chris Hero reached out to offer advice, according to reports from Fightful Select and Wrestling Observer Radio.
The Incident and Apology
On Monday, Ricochet responded to a fan who had criticized his acting with a tweet stating, “I’m glad you got MS.” The tweet quickly drew widespread condemnation. Ricochet subsequently apologized on Tuesday, stating he had “took out [his] hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS.” He added that the fan, Sandi, “didn’t deserve it” and pledged to “do better” in the future. Fightful reported the details of the apology.
Chris Hero’s Intervention
Multiple sources confirm that Chris Hero was the individual who contacted Ricochet to discuss the tweet. Fightful Select initially reported the news, and the information was corroborated by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer noted that Ricochet’s decision to delete the tweet and issue an apology was not influenced by AEW or Warner Bros. Discovery, but rather stemmed from a conversation with a friend – Chris Hero.
Ricochet’s Upcoming Match
Despite the controversy, Ricochet is still scheduled to compete at the ROH x Maple Leaf Pro reveal this coming weekend, where he will face Rich Swann. Wrestling Observer confirmed Ricochet’s scheduled match.
