Early Life and Career

Born Alfredo Stéfano Di Stéfano Laulhé on July 4, 1926, in Buenos Aires, Argentina [1], Di Stéfano began his footballing journey with Unión Progresista in 1940. He later joined River Plate in 1944, where he quickly established himself as a talented forward. A loan spell at Huracán followed in 1945-1946, before he moved to Millonarios in 1949.

Success with Real Madrid

In 1953, Di Stéfano joined Real Madrid, marking the beginning of a legendary era for both the player and the club.
