Budget fashion retailer Primark is moving forward with its expansion into the United Arab Emirates, opening its first store in Dubai Mall on Thursday, despite recent regional instability. Strategic Partnership with Alshaya Group

Primark’s entry into the Middle East is being spearheaded in partnership with Alshaya Group, a leading international retail franchise operator . The collaboration will see the opening of three stores in Dubai, with subsequent launches planned for Bahrain and Qatar by the end of the year .

Dubai Store Details and Expansion Plans

The flagship store in Dubai Mall spans 7,000 square meters and employs 601 staff . Following the Dubai Mall opening, Primark plans to open additional stores at City Centre Mirdif in April and Mall of the Emirates in May . The company first entered the Middle Eastern market with a store in Kuwait in October of last year.

Global Footprint and Market Reach

As of the end of January 2026, Primark operates approximately 475 stores across 18 countries in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and the US . The expansion into the UAE marks a significant step in the company’s growth strategy, bringing its total market reach to 21 countries.
