Young talents embrace global stage and pathway on The International Series The International Series continues to serve as a vital platform for emerging golfers seeking to establish themselves on the global stage, with the 2026 Singapore Open highlighting the tournament’s role in developing international talent. As the second stop on the 2026 International Series calendar, the event at Sentosa Golf Club from April 23–26 offers more than just competitive play—it provides a direct pathway to the LIV Golf League through the season-long Rankings race and awards two coveted spots in The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale as part of The Open Qualifying Series. Young players are increasingly embracing the opportunities presented by The International Series, which features elevated prize funds, world-class destinations, and exposure to elite competition across diverse golf markets. The series, now in its fifth year, has expanded its reach across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, offering a structured route for golfers worldwide to advance their careers through consistent performance in high-profile events. The 2026 Singapore Open, marking the 57th edition of Singapore’s storied National Open, brings together a blend of rising stars and established LIV Golf professionals. The field includes Lucas Herbert of Ripper GC, Peter Uihlein of RangeGoats GC, Fireballs GC teammates Josele Ballester and Luis Masaveu, and LIV Golf Wild Card Travis Smyth, who leads the International Series Rankings. Past champions Sadom Kaewkanjana and Jazz Janewattananond likewise return to defend their legacy at Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong course. First staged in 1961, the Singapore Open remains one of Asia’s longest-running national championships and continues to serve as a key platform for regional players to compete against the world’s best on home soil. Joshua Ho, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Golf Association, emphasized the importance of the event for local talent: “For our local golfers, this is a chance for them to create an impact at home, where they get to benchmark themselves and compete against some of the world’s best professionals.” The tournament’s rich history includes former world No. 1 Adam Scott, a three-time winner, and Sergio Garcia, who claimed victory in 2018. More recently, Japan’s Yosuke Asaji used his 2025 Singapore Open win to climb the Rankings and secure a full-time spot on the 2026 LIV Golf League as a Wild Card—demonstrating the tangible pathway the event provides to golf’s highest levels. As part of The International Series’ broader 2026 schedule, which includes stops in Japan, Morocco, India, Hong Kong, China, and Saudi Arabia, the Singapore Open reinforces the series’ mission to elevate the Asian Tour schedule while fostering global access to professional golf through enhanced prize funds and international exposure.
