Kang began her latest vlog titled “Kang Sora’s Chaotic Summer Break with Two Daughters. That Year, We Were Summer” visibly fatigued before embarking on a short getaway. According to Sports Chosun, she shared with viewers that her eldest daughter began her school break the previous Friday, leaving her feeling thoroughly drained. “My first daughter started her vacation last Friday, and it’s really so hard,” Kang said in the video, expressing mock excitement with the phrase, “Ah, how thrilling…” as cited by Sports Chosun.
To create special memories with her children, Kang organized a one-night stay at a pool villa pension after spending her days buried in domestic work. However, the relaxing premise quickly turned into a test of patience. While heading out for a meal during the trip, her second daughter threw a tantrum because she wanted to bring colored pencils into the restaurant, as reported by Sports Chosun.
Parenting Boundaries and Firm Discipline
Facing the public meltdown, Kang attempted to reason with the child gently. “No. Let’s just take the doll. You can do it again when we come back, it’s not going to disappear,” she told her daughter, according to Sports Chosun. When the tears continued, the actress adopted a firm stance, telling the child, “Even if you don’t like it, it can’t be helped. Even if you cry and it’s unfair, it can’t be helped.”
Hiding the colored pencils behind her back, Kang offered a final choice: “You’re not going? Then don’t go,” showcasing a realistic approach to parenting boundary-setting, as noted by Sports Chosun. After finishing dinner, the evening settled into a calmer routine as Kang read bedtime stories to her daughters. “Bedtime is finally approaching,” she said, according to Sports Chosun, adding that she planned to tuck them in while looking at photos taken together that day.
Reflecting on Motherhood and the Passage of Time
Reflecting on the relentless pace of raising young children, Kang shared a relatable sentiment with her audience of fellow parents. “Sometimes I’m so exhausted that I want the kids to grow up quickly, but then I think about how I won’t be able to spend time like this together when they reach their rebellious adolescent years, so I try my best to spend time together,” she said, according to Sports Chosun. She closed her vlog with an encouraging message for fellow parents: “Everyone must be having a hard time, but let’s hang in there just a little longer.”
Kang married a traditional Korean medicine doctor who is 10 years her senior in 2020, and the couple shares two daughters, according to Sports Chosun.
