ShearFRAC Group, LLC and MicroSeismic Inc. announced a strategic alliance on June 22, 2026, to combine pressure analytics with high-resolution microseismic imaging for real-time completion intelligence in the oil and gas industry. According to the companies, the partnership aims to bridge surface monitoring signals with subsurface reality to improve hydraulic fracturing operations.

Real-Time Diagnostics and Subsurface Calibration

Operators generate large volumes of streaming operational data, but critical completion decisions often rely on delayed interpretations and disconnected workflows. To address this gap, the collaboration pairs ShearFRAC’s pressure analytics and physics-informed machine learning models with MicroSeismic Inc.’s high-resolution microseismic imaging datasets, according to the official announcement.

This integration allows field teams to calibrate real-time pressure diagnostics against subsurface monitoring data. By continuously linking surface pressure measurements with subsurface calibration, the partnership intends to convert streaming data into trusted operational intelligence for hydraulic fracturing execution.

Leadership Perspectives on Intelligent Completions

Andrew McMurray, CEO of ShearFRAC, noted that current completions generate massive amounts of data every second, yet crucial decisions still depend on delayed interpretation and human pattern recognition under pressure. McMurray stated that the collaboration strengthens pressure-based intelligence using high-quality subsurface datasets.

MicroSeismic and ShearFRAC Partner for Real-Time US Shale Monitoring

Dr. Peter Duncan, CEO of MicroSeismic Inc., stated that combining the company’s decades of experience in subsurface behavior, fracture diagnostics, and microseismic monitoring with ShearFRAC’s real-time analytics creates an opportunity to improve confidence and accelerate learning at scale.

Operational Goals and Industry Applications

The alliance establishes a framework for integrated projects and commercial opportunities while maintaining support for both companies’ existing clients. According to the joint announcement, the combined technologies target several operational objectives:

  • Early, high-confidence identification of screenout risk
  • Detection of fracture-driven interactions and treatment inefficiencies
  • Assessment of casing deformation risk and induced seismicity indicators
  • Deployment of enhanced digital completion workflows across crews, fleets, and basins

Ultimately, the partnership aims to establish new industry benchmarks for translating real-time pressure measurements into actionable subsurface intelligence, helping operators achieve greater capital efficiency and execution consistency.
