The Centre-Val de Loire region has launched a new regional initiative named “Jeunesse et Solidarité” to help disadvantaged groups access live sporting events throughout the year, according to regional announcements. The program secured nearly 2,000 tickets covering 170 fixtures across basketball, handball, volleyball, football, tennis, badminton, fencing, and international women’s basketball matches.

According to regional authorities, 44 associations and 20 high schools across the territory have been selected to distribute the 2,000 passes to audiences traditionally distanced from competitive sports.
Partnering With Elite Regional Clubs
The initiative partners with 12 regional clubs, including three based in Indre-et-Loire: the Chambray Touraine Handball (CTHB) women’s first division side, the Tours Volley-ball (TVB) men’s elite squad, and the Remparts de Tours playing in Division 1, the second tier behind the Ligue Magnus.
Targeting Financial and Geographic Barriers
By purchasing blocks of seats for local fixtures and national team appearances, the regional council aims to boost attendance while fostering social inclusion through sport.
