Rebecca McKillican has joined the Board of Directors of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada, according to a corporate announcement released by the company on July 31, 2026. McKillican brings extensive e-commerce and executive leadership experience to the telecommunications giant, having previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of McKesson Canada from 2020 to 2023.

Leadership Background and Previous Board Service

McKillican joined McKesson in 2017 when the healthcare company acquired Well.ca, one of Canada’s largest health and wellness e-commerce platforms, where she served as CEO. Beyond her executive background, she currently serves on the board of the National Bank of Canada. At the National Bank, she chairs the Technology Committee and is a member of the Human Resources Committee, according to BCE Inc.

Louis Vachon, Chair of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada, stated in the announcement that he previously worked with McKillican at the National Bank of Canada and looks forward to collaborating with her again. Mirko Bibic, President and CEO of BCE Inc., added that McKillican’s background in technology and operational excellence will bring new perspectives to the board and help drive growth at Bell.

Katherine Lee Retires After Eleven Years

McKillican’s appointment coincides with the departure of Katherine Lee, who is retiring from the BCE Board after serving an 11-year tenure. Lee joined the board in 2015, contributing her expertise as a member of the Audit Committee and the Corporate Governance Committee.

BCE directors typically serve up to a maximum term of 12 years. This term limit is designed to maintain a balance between deep institutional experience and the regular introduction of new perspectives and board renewal, according to company disclosures.

Company Context and Board Governance

BCE Inc. operates as Canada’s largest communications company based on total revenue and total combined customer connections. The company delivers advanced fiber and wireless networks, enterprise services, and digital media through cloud-based and AI-driven solutions.
