Five teenagers broke into a parked car on a gravel parking lot along Körner Hellweg in the Körne district of Dortmund on Tuesday afternoon, September 8, 2026, according to the Dortmund Police. Three of the suspects were intercepted at the scene, while two others remained at large following the initial response.
Dortmund Police Respond to Vehicle Break-In on Körner Hellweg
When the owner challenged the group, three suspects fled immediately. However, the owner and a second witness managed to detain two of the individuals until law enforcement officers arrived at the location.
During subsequent search operations in the immediate area, patrol officers intercepted a third suspect whose physical description matched the details provided by witnesses. Officers searched the suspects and recovered two mobile phones alongside a pair of gloves, which they seized as evidence.
Stolen E-Scooter Recovered at the Scene
Law enforcement officials also recovered a stolen e-scooter that was leaning against the victim’s automobile at the time of the police response. Officers secured the scooter alongside the other seized items.
Following the initial intervention, two of the detained youths, aged 16 and 17, were released at the scene after officers established their personal identities. A third 16-year-old Dortmund resident was transported to a local police station for a forensic processing procedure conducted by the criminal investigation department. He was released after all required procedures were completed.
Investigators report that the search for the remaining two fugitive suspects is ongoing. Authorities ask that media inquiries be directed to the Dortmund Police press office.
