Snap Inc. is launching Snapchat Plans, a new suite of in-app event-planning tools designed to help users coordinate real-world gatherings directly through direct messages and group chats, according to an announcement from the company. The feature arrives as Snap reports that roughly a third of young Snapchat users in the United States routinely organize hangouts through the platform’s messaging features.
How Snapchat Plans Work Inside the App
According to Snap, users can initiate a plan by entering a custom event title, selecting a specific date and time, and inviting up to 200 friends. The system generates dynamic cover artwork powered by Bitmoji that automatically updates as details evolve.

Hosts retain full control over their events. Guests can also view the complete guest list and alter their RSVP status at any time. To keep participants on schedule, the application automatically dispatches a reminder notification one hour before an event begins.
Managing and Organizing Events
Snapchat Plans introduces dedicated navigational hubs for tracking schedules. A new “My Plans” section located on user profiles aggregates current, upcoming, and past events.
The platform emphasizes privacy for its user base. The new tool joins other recent platform updates, including the “Now Playing” map feature released earlier in the summer.
