The federal case centered around an August 2022 shooting at a Los Angeles petrol station targeting a vehicle carrying rival rapper Quando Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Bowman. While Bowman emerged unharmed, his cousin Saviay’a Robinson was killed in the gunfire. Federal prosecutors argued that Banks offered a bounty for Bowman’s death in retaliation for the 2020 killing of Chicago OTF rapper King Von in Atlanta.

During the proceedings, two co-defendants tried alongside Banks faced mixed verdicts. Deandre “OTF Dede” Wilson and David “Browneyez” Lindsey were convicted of stalking and conspiracy to commit stalking, but acquitted of the murder-for-hire charges, according to CBS News reporting cited by the BBC. The prosecution’s case relied heavily on testimony from three cooperating witnesses—Kavon “OTF Vonnie” Grant, Keith “Flacka” Jones, and Kacey “OTF Jam” Hester—who reached plea deals and testified against Banks, Wilson, and Lindsey.
