The evaluation examined 15 popular brands sold across Italian supermarkets through rigorous laboratory screenings, packaging assessments, and blind taste tests involving professional preparation and consumer panels.

Sensory evaluations formed a major component of the final rankings. Sixty regular consumers participated in blind taste tests, evaluating each brew on a scale from one to nine. A professional chef prepared all coffee samples using standard aluminum moka pots under controlled conditions.
