Butters Confronts Silicon Valley Billionaires Over Power Grids
The upcoming episode centers on the beloved character Butters, who grows deeply unhappy with the data centers that billionaires are building in local neighborhoods. According to a logline released by Comedy Central on Tuesday, the storyline aims squarely at the tech industry’s rapid expansion and the massive resource consumption required to power modern AI models.
This plotline opens the door for potential appearances from prominent Silicon Valley figures. Tech billionaire Peter Thiel previously appeared in Season 28 during the fan-favorite episode “Twisted Christian,” leaving open the possibility of further executive targets such as Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, or Elon Musk making an animated appearance.
The Satirical Origin of South America
The current season’s title shift stems from a corporate satire plotline that began earlier this year. Parker and Stone announced the change in a September 8 press release, stating they were inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google after the Trump administration renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America.
Wednesday night’s premiere will air on Comedy Central and will also be available to stream on Paramount+ and on-demand platforms immediately following the broadcast.
