Anna Plantin’s Derby Heroics lift Malmö FF

Malmö. the historic evening felt like a prolonged battle of attrition.but Anna Plantin needed just 50 seconds on the pitch to paint Malmö sky blue.

And it was clear she would deliver, the player who has worked her way up through the divisions.

When she joined Malmö FF three years ago, the team had just been promoted to Division 2. Anna Plantin couldn’t have imagined, in her wildest dreams, that she would stand here today as a derby hero.

She hasn’t quite processed it yet. Her voice wavers and her eyes are bright. There’s a lot to absorb when you make history with your first touch – after onyl 50 seconds.

The queues stretched long before the Swedish restart. Supporters in red and blue stood alongside those in sky blue. Most of the champions alongside those who consider themselves the next champions.

And the fact is: the newcomers, Malmö FF, are firmly in the gold battle after 13 games played – while FC Rosengård sits comfortably in the upper half of the table.but the first half reflected the shift in power that many had predicted.
