“We will prove that this KPA is in the area and works really,” Misharti said.

He highlighted concerns over the increasing cases of HIV/AIDS among teenagers he saw from the news. Misharti said, in West Java Province, a significant increase in cases occurred not only because of prostitution, but also sexual intercourse behavior carried out by junior high school age children.

“This is what we don’t want to happen in Kampar Regency,” he said.

To fortify Kampar from the spread of HIV/AIDS, KPA Kampar will not work alone. Misharti stressed the importance of collaboration with various parties, including parents, teachers, community leaders, and religious leaders.

“We must involve all elements to remind each other,” he said.

During the meeting, KPA Kampar planned four main programs to be held in the next four months, starting from September to December 2025. One of the main focus was the socialization of HIV/AIDS prevention.

The following are the specified socialization schedules:

September: Second Week in 13 Koto Kampar
October: First Week at the Mine and Third Week in Bangkinang
November: First Week in East Salo and third week in Kampar Kiri

In addition to socialization, KPA Kampar will also hold the Kampar Regency Narcotics Agency (BNK) to conduct drug tests, which can also be combined with HIV/AIDS tests. This program will also educate the public about the dangers of using syringes that have been used because injections are one of the main causes of transmission, given the existence of drugs that use injection media.

In closing the series of activities, KPA Kampar plans to hold a Car Free Day (CFD) event to commemorate World AIDS Day which falls on December 1 as an effort to campaign and mass education.

“We have four programs that have been budgeted. Hopefully our efforts can minimize the spread of HIV/AIDS in Kampar,” concluded Misharti.
