Mudryk, Chelsea’s 24-year-old winger, hasn’t played for the London club as November last year, after a routine anti-doping test came back positive while with the Ukrainian national team. Mudryk has consistently maintained his innocence and reportedly passed a lie detector test, but if found guilty, he coudl face a suspension of up to four years.
Allegedly,Mudryk wasn’t feeling well during his time with the national team, and Igor Byobiya, the team’s physiotherapist, administered a stem cell injection to aid tissue regeneration. According to reports, the stem cells may have come from cattle that had been exposed to Meldonium – a substance prohibited by the international federation. This could explain how the prohibited substance entered Mudryk’s system.
