Twelve women entered the double-ring cage at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on Nov. 4, and none left without cuts or bruises, with Megan Bayne emerging as a “crimson mess” after losing significant blood during AEW Dynamite’s Blood & Guts match. The babyface team of Kris Statlander, Harley Cameron, Jamie Hayter, Alex Windsor, Willow Nightingale and Queen Aminata defeated the heels when Julia Hart tapped to a submission applied by both Statlander and Cameron, which included barbed wire wrapped around her face.
ET from Jacksonville, Florida, took place 10 days before AEW Full Gear on Nov. 14 in Phoenix, where several participants have championship matches pending. While the women’s bout consumed nearly the entire first hour, the men’s Blood & Guts match featured AEW World Champion Will Ospreay leading his squad against the Don Callis Family.
How the Women’s Match Unfolded
The match began with Kris Statlander bringing a garbage can of weapons into the cage to face Megan Bayne, who entered with steel chairs for a three-minute period, Cageside Seats reported. Bayne was the first to lose blood, and by the first commercial break she was heavily bloodied. Skye Blue was busted open before entering the ring, and with all-white gear, the blood stood out as she grew bloodier throughout the contest.

Willow Nightingale joined next with a backpack loaded with LEGO bricks and glass, blasting a bloody Blue with a spinebuster into shards scattered across the mat. Alex Windsor brought a two-by-four covered in barbed wire, while Harley Cameron duped Lena Kross with a small ukulele before striking her with a guitar. The match ended when Hart was forced to surrender to the combined hold of Statlander and Cameron.
Twelve Women Battled Inside the Cage
The women’s field included Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue), Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross), and CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone against the babyface team, TSN reported. Windsor, Aminata, Kross and Persephone competed in their first Blood & Guts match, joining eight women who returned from last year’s inaugural women’s bout. Before this event, 46 wrestlers had participated in the previous six Blood & Guts matches.

The format requires one representative from each team to start, with competitors entering at timed intervals after a coin toss determines which team gains the numerical advantage. Once all 12 entered, the match became a free-for-all that could only end by submission or surrender, with fighting occurring in the rings, outside the cage and atop the structure.
Ospreay and the Don Callis Family Square Off
In the men’s Blood & Guts match, AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, TNT Champion Darby Allin, Steven Borden Jr. and the Young Bucks faced the Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Wardlow, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle, AEW reported. Don Callis promised to “do a lot of damage” heading into Full Gear, which he said would set up Fletcher, Davis and Doyle to win gold.

Ospreay must defend his AEW World Championship against Fletcher at Full Gear on Nov. 14, making the Blood & Guts result significant for momentum heading into the pay-per-view.
Full Gear Arrives November 14 in Phoenix
AEW Full Gear takes place Nov. 14 in Phoenix, Arizona, featuring Ospreay vs. Fletcher for the world title and the Brawling Birds defending the Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Statlander and Cameron’s team. The Blood & Guts event served as the final major storyline chapter before the pay-per-view, with both the men’s and women’s cage matches building directly toward those championship bouts.
