Alabama football has secured another high-profile quarterback recruit, adding 2024 five-star signal caller Kingston Preyear to its class, according to multiple reports. The Benjamin Russell High School standout became the latest in a long line of elite passers to commit to the Crimson Tide, reinforcing the program’s reputation for developing NFL-caliber quarterbacks.

Preyear, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect from Phenix City, Alabama, announced his commitment to Alabama on April 12, 2023, after a standout senior season that saw him throw for 2,870 yards and 32 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. His decision came months after he visited the university and met with head coach Nick Saban, who praised his “football IQ and leadership” in a statement released by the athletic department.

The 247Sports Composite rankings rated Preyear as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2024 class and the third-best quarterback. His recruitment followed a competitive battle with LSU and Georgia, but Preyear ultimately chose Alabama for its “winning culture and track record of developing quarterbacks,” he told AL.com.

Preyear’s addition continues a trend of Alabama landing top-tier quarterbacks.
