Stand Up for Heroes Marks 20th Anniversary Benefit for Veterans
Among the marquee events is the 20th anniversary of Stand Up for Heroes, a comedy benefit raising money for the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Caroline Hirsch, founder of the festival and the comedy club Carolines, said the Stand Up for Heroes benefit raises money for the Bob Woodruff Foundation that goes back to all the veterans.
“This is like our night of escape – to get out there and do something amazing – an expression of our support for the veterans,” Woodruff said.
Live Laughter Draws Audiences Back to Shared Rooms
Hirsch said the festival continues to draw crowds seeking in-person entertainment. “What people want today is the live event – they want to share that space with somebody else – they want to be in the same room with people that want to laugh together,” she said.
She added that the festival offers variety across its schedule. “There is something for everyone on every night of the week,” Hirsch said.
