Aliou Diarra, the Malian center who joined Virtus Bologna last year, has finished his participation in the NBA Summer League with the Portland Trail Blazers. His final appearance, a matchup against the Utah Jazz, capped an intensive period of growth for the 2001-born player.
In his limited time on the court, Diarra demonstrated his defensive impact near the rim. Over the course of five Summer League games, he averaged 14.3 minutes, 4.8 points on 50% shooting, 5.8 rebounds, and one block per contest. His most efficient performance came against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds in 16 minutes without missing a shot from the field or the free-throw line.
This summer has been a period of consistent competition for the center, who also participated in qualifying matches for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup with the Mali national team.
