Australian Allan Peiper, a veteran sports director known for his influential role in Tadej Pogačar’s early career, is returning to the professional cycling world as a strategic advisor for Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe in 2026. This marks his comeback after a break to recover from prostate cancer.
A Strategic Role for a Proven Leader
Peiper’s role at Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe will focus on strategic expertise and translating the team’s vision into actionable plans, rather than a full-time sports director position according to a team press release. He brings over 18 years of experience as a director, having worked with teams like T-Mobile and BMC Racing before joining UAE Team Emirates in 2019.
From Pogačar to Evenepoel
Peiper is widely credited with playing a key role in the development of Tadej Pogačar during his time at UAE Team Emirates . Now, he will lend his expertise to another Grand Tour contender, Remco Evenepoel, as Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe prepares for the 2026 season.
