Alpha IVF Expands Indonesian Footprint with Novel Jakarta Fertility Centre
Alpha IVF Group Bhd is strategically expanding its presence in Indonesia, with plans to establish a second in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) centre in the Greater Jakarta area. This move targets the significant and largely underserved fertility treatment market within the region.
Strategic Location and Incentives
The new centre will be located within the Banten Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at the Biomedical Campus in Bumi Serpong Damai City, part of the Greater Jakarta metropolitan region, also known as Jabodetabek. This location offers a supportive regulatory environment and operating incentives designed to attract advanced healthcare investments, including tax incentives, streamlined regulatory processes, access to specialised pharmaceutical supply chains and the ability to engage foreign medical specialists. The Banten SEZ is managed by Sinar Mas Land and is designated for international health, technology, and education.
Operational Timeline and Investment
The Jakarta IVF centre is slated to start operations in October 2026, preceding the opening of Alpha IVF’s Bali facility, which is currently under construction in the Sanur Special Economic Zone and expected to launch in 2027. Alpha IVF has secured approximately 612 square meters of clinical and laboratory space for the Jakarta centre and plans to invest around RM10.9 million, funded through proceeds from its initial public offering (IPO) and internal funds.
Advanced Technologies and Market Potential
The new facility will incorporate advanced technologies to support internationally benchmarked success rates, including artificial intelligence-assisted embryo selection, time-lapse embryo monitoring, and preimplantation genetic testing. Indonesia represents one of the largest untapped fertility treatment markets in Asia, with a population exceeding 270 million and relatively low IVF penetration. The expansion specifically targets the strong demand within the Jabodetabek region, where a significant portion of fertility treatment activity is concentrated.
Alpha IVF’s Growth in Indonesia
This Jakarta centre marks Alpha IVF Group’s second IVF development in Indonesia, demonstrating the company’s commitment to expanding access to fertility care in the region.
