One Airlifted to Hospital Following Hunting Accident in Appalachia Appalachia authorities responded to a hunting incident on early Thursday morning according to the Appalachia Fire Department. The incident occurred in the Exeter community of Wise County, Virginia, where a turkey hunter was accidentally shot. Emergency responders including the Appalachia Fire Department, Wise County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources arrived on the scene. Medical care was administered before the victim was transported via med-evac helicopter to a local trauma center for further treatment. The case remains under investigation by authorities. [1] [4]
