ASUS to pause Smartphone Releases in 2026
JAKARTA – ASUS reportedly plans to suspend new smartphone launches in 2026. This information stems from a report indicating the Taiwanese company communicated this decision to several telecommunications channels. ASUS clarified, however, that after-sales services-including device maintenance, software updates, and warranty support-will continue uninterrupted for all existing products.
Despite never achieving market dominance in the smartphone industry or ranking among the world’s best-selling phones, ASUS consistently released devices through its zenfone and ROG Phone lines. The ROG Phone series caters to the gamer segment with specialized features, while the Zenfone targets general consumers. industry-wide slowdown in global smartphone sales is believed to have impacted ASUS’s mobile business.
A Digitimes report stated that ASUS informed telecom channels it will not release new Android smartphones throughout 2026. Support for current devices, including system updates and warranty service, remains guaranteed.
