Aulnay-sous-Bois Turns the Corner: Debt Reduction and Investment Under Mayor Beschizza

Aulnay-sous-Bois is experiencing a financial turnaround under the leadership of Mayor Bruno Beschizza, reversing what proponents describe as a “catastrophic” legacy of debt. Since 2014, the city has focused on stabilizing and subsequently decreasing its debt, while simultaneously investing in key infrastructure projects.

Prior to 2014, the city faced a significant debt burden. However, under Mayor Beschizza’s administration, the debt was first stabilized and, beginning in 2022, has been actively reduced.

This financial recovery has not come at the expense of progress. The city has undertaken several significant projects, including:

  • The Odyssey project
  • Construction of novel schools in Ormesson, Bourg, and Jules Verne
  • Renovation of the Mitry area
  • The Garcelon Dairy project
  • Development of the Ourcq canal
  • Creation of five new parks
  • Installation of 530 video surveillance cameras

The administration emphasizes that this approach – reducing debt while continuing to invest in the city – represents responsible and ambitious management.
