Infant Recovering After Falling From Stroller on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive

An 8-month-old baby is in good condition after being rescued from Lake Michigan on Wednesday, February 19, 2026, after falling from a stroller along North Dusable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

Details of the Incident

Around 3 p.m. On Wednesday, witnesses observed a girl in a stroller falling into the water in the 3200 block of North Dusable Lake Shore Drive. Bystanders quickly pulled the infant from the water.

The baby was transported to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where she was reported to be in good condition, police stated.

Investigation Underway

Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and the cause of the fall.
