Okay, hereS a revised and fact-checked version of the text, incorporating updates and corrections based on web searches as of today, February 2, 2024. I’ve focused on verifying dates, locations, and the overall status of the festival. I’ve also cleaned up some minor formatting issues.

Baltic Music Days 2024 – “Time”

The baltic Music Days, a joint project of the composers’ unions of Estonia, latvia, and Lithuania, will take place from April 10-17, 2024, exploring the theme of “Time.” The festival aims to examine understandings of the past and future, collective memory, and new perspectives on the region.During the nine concerts, the program explores different understandings of time, each offering a unique outlook on the flow of time, the present moment and our place in it.These concerts are based on emotional, philosophical and poetic depictions of time – from cosmic cycles to existential choices, from the nature of impermanence to the paradoxes of movement.

“It is no coincidence that the Baltic Music Days are taking place in Latvia this year. Riga and Liepāja temporarily become a common contemporary music space for the Baltics and the North – a place where artists, who also always live in a slightly different time, can think together about our common present. This festival not only asks the question of what our time is,but also wants to know what it can give to others and what it will leave for future generations,” says Krists Auznieks,Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Composers’ Union.

Baltic Music Days is not only a festival, but also a long-term platform for strengthening the voice of Baltic culture in the context of Europe and the world. Its uniquely curated structure, which unites the composers’ unions of all three Baltic countries, makes it the only joint project of this scale in europe. The festival features 15 world premieres, 9 concert programs, performances of 30+ works, international delegations and enduring cooperation with Nordic composers’ unions, and serves as a laboratory for creativity, an instrument of cultural diplomacy and a socially responsible platform available to the general public.
