Basilicata Extends Housing Grants for Bucaletto Families Until 2027

The Regione Basilicata officially extended funding for independent housing assistance in Potenza’s Bucaletto neighborhood through December 31, 2027, according to an announcement made on September 14, 2026, by regional authorities. The decision secures financial continuity for local families without requiring a fresh allocation of regional budget funds.

Financial Coverage Secured Through Existing Allocations

Regional authorities confirmed that the one-year extension relies entirely on unspent funds from previous budget cycles. According to Francesco Cupparo, regional assessor for Economic Development, Labor, and Training, a comprehensive review of past assignments revealed sufficient financial reserves to cover the upcoming annual cycle. This mechanism allows the administration to maintain support for Bucaletto residents without placing new demands on the regional treasury, as reported by Agenparl.

Response to Local Administration and Political Solicitations

The extension follows a direct request submitted by the Municipality of Potenza, which was strongly advocated by regional councillor Fernando Picerno. The regional intervention aims to prevent any lapse in economic support while the municipal administration advances its ongoing administrative procedures.

Operational Timeline and Next Steps

With the deadline now pushed to the end of 2027, the regional government intends to provide stability for the affected households during the transition phase. Cupparo emphasized that the primary objective is ensuring certainty for the Bucaletto community while the city completes its planned housing initiatives.
