Sky’s television series chronicling the rise of the Italian pop duo 883 has attracted public attention, but it has also triggered friction with former television personalities. The second season of the 883 series continues to fuel public interest, retracing the history of the duo formed by Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto. However, Eleonora Cecere, a former cast member of Gianni Boncompagni’s hit variety show It’s not the Rai, has voiced sharp disapproval of how the show’s female cast members were portrayed in the first season.

Speaking to Fanpage, Cecere singled out a specific scene set at an Acquafun pool party in Riccione following a musical performance. In that sequence, a tall, curly-haired blonde character—resembling Cecere’s appearance at the time—appears alongside another program member who propositions one of the musicians with an explicit remark. Cecere stated that none of the show’s participants ever made such propositions to Pezzali or Repetto, calling the fictionalized portrayal “in bad taste.” Cecere was only 13 or 14 years old during her time on the daily television program.

Disputed Scenes And Diverging Memories Across Seasons

The disagreement over narrative accuracy extends into the show’s second season. Cecere questioned the factual basis of a scene in the current run where a character resembling her approaches Max Pezzali to invite him to spend the evening with a group of girls. In her interview with Fanpage, she expressed uncertainty about whether that interaction ever happened in reality. While acknowledging that the scripted drama tells the story primarily from the musicians’ point of view, she maintained that the collective image projected onto the young cast members diverges significantly from her own memories of the era.

Cecere’s critique targets the broader group dynamic depicted in the fiction rather than isolated comedic moments. Despite her objections to the dramatic license taken by the writers, Cecere retains fond memories of the actual encounters between the music duo and the television cast, recalling how enthusiastically the teenage performers welcomed the band during their early 1990s television appearances and subsequent visits to Happy Sunday.

Current Career Projects For The Former Television Star

Away from the ongoing television debate, Cecere remains active in the entertainment industry. She is currently touring with the theatrical production of Rugantino and has recently released a musical single titled Free, which addresses victims of violence. Following her experience on the reality television program Big Brother VIP in 2024—an exit driven by her desire to return to her young daughters—she expressed openness to future television roles, telling Fanpage that she believes she can still contribute meaningfully to the medium.

Teenage Stardom, Gianni Boncompagni, And Robbie Williams’s Pursuit

During her interview, Cecere also reflected on the intense adolescent success she experienced during the 1990s and her relationship with director Gianni Boncompagni. She recounted receiving persistent attention from British pop singer Robbie Williams, who obtained her phone number from Michela Andreozzi and left messages on her answering machine. Reflecting on that period as a young girl, Cecere noted that she could not imagine Williams genuinely wanted to meet her at the time, stating that she would have perceived the situation differently had she been older.
