What Information Can Be Redacted?
As of October 1, 2002, Florida law restricts the inclusion of certain private information in recorded documents. Individuals can request the redaction (removal) of the following from images or copies of official records available on the Bay County Clerk’s publicly accessible website:
* Social Security Numbers
* Bank Account Numbers
* Credit Card Numbers
* Debit Card Numbers
* Charge Card Numbers
This service is offered free of charge.
How to Submit a Redaction request
To request redaction, you must submit a written request to the Bay county Clerk’s Office. The request must:
* Be legibly written and signed.
* Specifically identify the document containing the information to be redacted, including the book and page number of the official record.
You can submit your request in one of three ways:
