Italy Celebrates Global Creativity and “Made in Italy” with International Awards

The award program, now in its fifth edition, encourages Italian offices abroad to develop and implement projects that amplify Italian ingenuity and foster collaboration with local communities. A judging panel comprised of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy evaluates submissions based on originality, coherence, and relevance to the local context.
2024 Winning Projects: A Showcase of Italian Innovation
The 2024 edition of the award highlighted three especially innovative projects:
* Belgrade, Serbia – “Play with It”: The Italian Embassy and Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade are transforming the city into a creative hub in anticipation of Expo Belgrade 2027.This project will feature events centered around design, fashion, music, and technology, all unified by the theme of gaming as a universal language.
* Houston, USA – “Lots of Italy in Houston”: The Italian Consulate General in Houston is celebrating the contributions of Italian and Italian-americans to the city’s cultural and scientific landscape. The project includes an interactive app, educational activities for schools, and a series of events throughout the Houston metropolitan area.
* bangkok, Thailand – “Italia Reloaded”: the Italian Cultural institute (IIC) in Bangkok, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, will explore Italian identity and sustainability through the lenses of coffee and restoration. The project will involve events, workshops, and partnerships between businesses, institutions, and young people.
The Meaning of “Made in Italy”
“Made in Italy” is more than just a label; it represents a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, design, and innovation. It encompasses a wide range of sectors, including fashion, food, automotive, furniture, and technology. The italian government actively promotes “Made in Italy” globally to enhance the country’s economic competitiveness and cultural influence.
