Coup attempt in Benin
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — A wave of coups d’état is occurring again in Africa. According to AFP, at least ten African countries have experienced coups in the last five years.
This time, a coup attempt has taken place in Benin, a West african nation.On Sunday (December 7th),soldiers appeared on state television announcing the overthrow of President patrice Talon.
Talon has governed the country since 2016. The soldiers have declared themselves the ‘Military Committee for Reform’ (CMR).

“Mr. Patrice talon has been removed from his position as president of the republic,” a statement on state television announced.
CNN reports that Lieutenant Colonel Pascal Tigri has been appointed President of the Military Committee.
