She had to celebrate one of her greatest successes outside the ring on crutches. In March 2024, the readers of the Taunus Zeitung named Bilgenur Aras “Sportswoman of the Year” in Hochtaunus. A few days earlier, the Oberursel native had torn the cruciate ligament in her right knee while sparring.

Bilgenur Aras Pursues World Championship Title After Overcoming injury Setbacks
Bilgenur Aras, a professional boxer based in Oberursel, Germany, is determined to reach the pinnacle of her sport, aiming for a world title fight scheduled for April 2026. Her journey to the top has been marked by resilience, overcoming injuries, and a deep-rooted passion for martial arts.
Aras discovered boxing at a school festival, an experience she credits with providing a crucial “anchor” in her life. She found solace and strength in the sport,sticking with it even during difficult times. she began training at the Gallus boxing camp, making her amateur debut in 2009. A promising career trajectory was briefly halted by a broken hand while competing for the European Championship. In 2019, she transitioned to professional boxing, quickly establishing herself as a formidable competitor in the super bantamweight division (up to 55 kilograms). However, a serious knee injury threatened to derail her world championship aspirations.

Aras is currently trained by Ralph Bunn at “MMA Spirit” in Frankfurt,with athletic training provided by Michel Fois from “Fit VII” in Kronberg. Her recent fight night was organized through the “3B Promotions” agency,featuring eleven professional fights and drawing an audience of 1,100 spectators.
Her most recent bout was a super featherweight (up to 59 kilograms) contest against experienced Austrian Eva Hubmayer.
