Erik de Vogel, a Dutch actor best known for his long-running role in the soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden (GTST), continues to be a prominent figure in Dutch television. His character, Ludo Sanders, has been a fixture on the show for over 25 years, and de Vogel’s recent storylines have captivated audiences, including a dramatic return from a presumed death.

A Quarter-Century with Goede tijden, slechte tijden

Erik de Vogel was born on May 2, 1961, in Haarlem, Netherlands. He began playing Ludo Sanders in Goede tijden, slechte tijden in December 1996, and has remained in the role ever since. Often portrayed as a villain, Ludo Sanders is the father of Nina Mauricius–Sanders, whose mother is Marly van der Velden.

Beyond the Soap Opera: Diverse Roles

De Vogel’s career extends beyond GTST. He notably played Hoofdpiet, a traditional character in Dutch Sinterklaas celebrations, from 1994 to 1997. Erik van Muiswinkel succeeded him in the role. He also appeared as Hoofdpiet in the 1995 television film Pepernoten voor Sinterklaas and on the television show Telekids.

Further diversifying his resume, de Vogel made a cameo appearance in the 2019 film De Brief voor Sinterklaas. He also had a guest role in the 2005 film Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. In 2019, he took on the lead role in the film Nachtwacht: Het Duistere Hart. He has also appeared in episodes of De TV Kantine and the drama series Een moord kost meer levens, which is based on the 1994 book by Peter R. De Vries.
