Bitcoin faces renewed downward pressure as surging crude oil prices, rising Treasury yields, and escalating regulatory uncertainty weigh heavily on investor sentiment across global markets. According to data from CoinDesk, Bitcoin traded around 6만5500달러 부근, marking a roughly 0.7% decline from a recent high of 고점 6만6700달러 recorded just a day prior. Major altcoins, including Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and XRP, followed suit with synchronized losses.
Macroeconomic Pressures: Oil and Treasury Yields
According to TradingView data, traditional financial markets are exerting direct gravity on digital assets as macro indicators strengthen. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange climbed to $88.60 per barrel, hitting their highest level since June 11. Treasury yield jumped to 4.31%, marking its highest reading since February 2025, while the 10-year yield advanced to 4.66%, a peak not seen since May.
These rising yields increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets like Bitcoin and gold. As fixed-income alternatives become more attractive, capital rotates out of risk-on assets and into government-backed debt.
Geopolitical Escalation and Regulatory Hurdles
Geopolitical tensions have added to market anxiety. According to reports from Axios, the United States deployed B-1 long-range bombers to strike targets associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Analysts view the deployment of heavy strategic bombers as a distinct escalation away from previous, more limited airstrikes.
Regulatory headwinds are compounding macroeconomic and geopolitical pressures in Washington. Although Senate Republicans recently unveiled a revised version of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, the legislative path forward remains steep. A majority of Democratic senators voiced opposition, arguing that the current draft falls short on key provisions, including ethics safeguards. Consequently, the implied probability of the Clarity Act passing on the decentralized prediction platform Polymarket dropped sharply from 46% to 38%.
Defending the legislative package, Republican lawmakers emphasized that the updated text incorporates strict ethical guardrails aligned with agreements forged alongside the White House and President Donald Trump. Senator Bernie Moreno defended the proposal directly, describing it as containing some of the strictest ethics requirements in U.S. history.
