Bibliotheek Helmond-Peel Celebrates “Very Good” Ratings and Generational Connections During Boekenweek

Bibliotheek Helmond-Peel is celebrating outstanding results from recent evaluations, including CBCT certification and positive feedback from both visitors and schools. Simultaneously, the library is actively participating in the national Boekenweek (Book Week) campaign, themed ‘My Generation,’ fostering connections between young and aged through reading and storytelling.

Exceptional Performance Across the Board

Recent assessments demonstrate Bibliotheek Helmond-Peel’s commitment to quality service. The library achieved a score of 74 points in its CBCT (Certification Organisation Library Work, Culture and Language) certification, significantly exceeding the national average of 62.9 points. The CBCT deemed this result “very good.”

A customer survey revealed high levels of satisfaction, with feedback gathered from 756 visitors. Schools have expressed positive feedback regarding the library’s collaboration through the ‘Bibliotheek op school’ (Library at School) program.

Internal surveys likewise showed increased employee satisfaction, highlighting a strong and engaged team dedicated to providing excellent service.

Boekenweek 2026: Bridging Generations

From March 11th to March 22nd, 2026, Bibliotheek Helmond-Peel is embracing the Boekenweek theme of ‘My Generation’ by connecting different age groups through the power of stories. Community Librarian Willeke Vermeulen emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating the goal is to “bring young and old together and let them enjoy stories.”

Activities include:

• Voorlezen in Woonzorgcentra: Local ‘voorleeskampioenen’ (reading champions) are reading to residents in care centers in Asten, Someren, and Deurne.
• Tentoonstelling ‘Grootouderverhalen’ (Grandparent Stories): Throughout March in Someren, an exhibition featuring 17 stories from Bibliotheek Best will be on display, showcasing grandparents sharing their experiences with their grandchildren.
• Growt Hellemonds Diktee: A local dialect spelling bee will be held at Bibliotheek Helmond on an upcoming Friday. Registration details are available here.
