Bondi Beach Machete Attack: Teens Charged After Stabbing
A 54-year-old man is recovering in hospital after an alleged machete attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Friday night. Two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Details of the Attack
Emergency services were called to Glasgow Avenue, Bondi Beach, around 9:15 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026, following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found the man with a stab wound to his upper body. Paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to St Vincent Hospital in serious but stable condition. 7News reported the incident.
Police allege the man had been arguing with a teen about an e-bike before the altercation escalated. The initial attacker fled the scene before returning with another teen, and the pair allegedly assaulted the man a second time before leaving.
Charges Filed
The 15-year-old boy has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, common assault, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, two counts of supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, goods suspected stolen in/on premises, and breach of bail.
The 17-year-old boy has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and breach of bail.
Both teenagers were refused bail and are scheduled to appear in Parramatta Bail Division Court.
