Brad Keselowski Addresses Martinsville Media

The outpouring of support and interest in my future racing plans over the past few weeks has been truly humbling, Brad Keselowski said in a statement released Tuesday. The 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion will speak to reporters Saturday morning at Martinsville Speedway to answer questions about his upcoming departure from RFK Racing and his racing career beyond the 2026 season.

Keselowski currently drives the No. 6 Ford for RFK Racing, an organization where he also holds an ownership stake. The driver and the team announced on Sept. 29 that they will part ways at the end of the season, bringing an end to a five-year driving contract.

Ownership Conflicts and 2027 Uncertainty

According to RFK Racing team president Chip Bowers, the core conflict revolved around Keselowski’s wish to keep racing while the other partners preferred that he concentrate on his operational responsibilities. Further details emerged from an Oct. 23 report by Sports Business Journal, which confirmed that Keselowski attempted to purchase RFK Racing in full. That acquisition bid was ultimately rejected by his co-owners, Roush Enterprises and Fenway Sports Group. With his exit from the No. 6 car locked in for the end of the 2026 season, industry observers have questioned where the 36-time Cup Series race winner might land in 2027. Some pointed to Kaulig as a potential destination, only for the team to shoot those rumors down. Meanwhile, the squad has yet to reveal its plans regarding the vacant No. 6 machine left behind by Keselowski, and the organization continues its pursuit of a third charter for the No. 60 after the 2026 season.

Martinsville Press Conference Details

The upcoming media availability offers Keselowski a direct platform to clarify his intentions after weeks of public speculation and a relatively tight-lipped approach to his career trajectory.

I sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience, encouragement and continued support. It means more than you know, Keselowski said.

The press conference is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. ET at Martinsville Speedway and will stream live on NASCAR.com/PressPass. The announcement arrives as Keselowski sits 19th in the points standings ahead of Sunday’s Xfinity 500.
